Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 13, 2026
Union Line Calls ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website unionlinecalls.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit the Site.
1. Information We Collect
We collect limited information to improve your experience on the Site:
- Usage Data: When you visit the Site, we automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring URLs. This data is collected through Squarespace's built-in analytics and Google Analytics.
- Email Address: If you subscribe to our mailing list or create a membership account, we collect your email address. Providing your email is entirely voluntary.
- Membership Signup & Waitlist Forms: If you submit a membership signup or waitlist form, we collect the information you provide through that form (such as name, email address, classification, local affiliation, and any optional fields you choose to complete). These forms are powered by JotForm.
- Contact Form Submissions: If you contact us through our contact form, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, and message content.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account details, or other sensitive personal information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for the following purposes:
- To operate and maintain the Site
- To understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it
- To send email updates about new job calls or site features (only if you opt in)
- To process membership signups and manage waitlists
- To respond to your inquiries submitted through our contact form
- To send transactional and notification emails related to your signup or inquiry
- To detect and prevent technical issues
3. How We Source Job Data
The job call information displayed on the Site is aggregated from publicly available data posted by IBEW local union halls on their respective websites. We collect this data using automated tools and store it in Google Sheets, which serves as our database. The data is then published to the Site for display.
We do not collect personal information about individual workers or applicants. The job data we display includes contractor names, locations, classifications, and other details posted publicly by union halls. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the IBEW or any local union.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies:
- Squarespace Cookies: Our hosting platform (Squarespace) sets cookies necessary for the Site to function, including session cookies and analytics cookies.
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand Site traffic and usage patterns. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized usage data. Google may use this data in accordance with its own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some Site functionality.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may collect or process data:
- Squarespace: Website hosting and built-in analytics
- Google Analytics: Website traffic analysis
- Google Sheets: Data storage for job call information and form submissions
- JotForm: Hosts and processes our membership signup and waitlist forms. Submissions are stored on JotForm's servers and forwarded to us via the integrations described below.
- Make (Integromat): Workflow automation platform that routes form submissions from JotForm into our internal systems (such as Google Sheets) and triggers notification emails to administrators and to you (e.g., signup confirmations).
- Anthropic (Claude): An AI assistant we use to help process and review form submissions. See "Use of Artificial Intelligence" below for details.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We encourage you to review their policies.
6. Use of Artificial Intelligence
We use Anthropic's Claude AI to help us process, summarize, categorize, and respond to form submissions you send through our membership signup, waitlist, and contact forms. When you submit a form, the contents of that submission may be sent to Anthropic's API for processing.
Per Anthropic's commercial API terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train Anthropic's models. Anthropic retains submitted data only as needed to provide the service and for safety/abuse monitoring, in accordance with their privacy policy.
If you would prefer that your submission not be processed by AI, please email us directly at unionlinecalls@gmail.com instead of using the form.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers who help us operate the Site (e.g., Squarespace, Google, JotForm, Make, Anthropic), subject to their privacy policies and to processing only on our behalf
- If required by law, regulation, or legal process
- To protect our rights, privacy, safety, or property
8. Data Retention
Usage data collected through analytics is retained according to the default retention settings of Squarespace and Google Analytics. Email addresses collected through subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe.
Membership signup and waitlist form submissions — including any uploaded images such as ticket photos, which may contain personal details like home addresses — are permanently deleted from JotForm within approximately one week of being processed. Only the information needed for membership management (such as name, email, classification, and local affiliation) is transferred to our internal systems. Uploaded images are not retained beyond processing.
Contact form submissions are retained as long as needed to address your inquiry. You may request deletion of any personal information at any time — see Section 9.
9. Your Rights
You may:
- Opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the browser add-on linked above
- Unsubscribe from email communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails
- Request that we delete any personal information we hold about you (including form submissions and any AI-processed copies) by contacting us
- Request that your form submission be handled without AI processing by emailing us directly
- Disable cookies through your browser settings
10. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
